Street Festival at Leipzigs "Kö" on June 1st

The "Kö" is the Könneritzstreet in Leipzig's west and there will be a street festival at the afternoon of June 1st this year. The big news:

I will take part with a stall and offering my (printed) postcard-sets, ornamental drawings and photographies there!

Exciting, eh? Well at least it is for me. And there'll be a whole lot of work during the next few weeks. I'll have to draw a lot and decide which drawings and photos to print, etc.

New Product: Starting with Holiday Cards - PK 83

My friend K recently complained that my art is too pointy and sharp, since I felt that I had gotten into a creative rut I tried to get rounder and this is what I came up with. Since the holiday season is right ahead of us, I chose dark green and (what should have been) a dark red*.

* Yeah, I know it isn't dark at all.

New Product: The Zen-Postcard-Set in Black

As I've already told you way back in October this set is a combination of calm and humour. Since my friend, who I gave it for his birthday, thought it's totally awesome, I sell it now on my shop. The circle means emptiness and completion and is often used as the symbol for Zen. Which, funnily enough, I only found out after I had created the set.

Now, there are three cards, three circles but endless uses. Naturally you can use those cards to send them to your loved ones, but you can also use them for meditation and decoration of your home. I will eventually put this set up in different colors. So if you want it in your favourite color just write me an email and I'll make a set in that chosen colour.

By the way, I photographed these pictures in a "new" way, meaning I put them on a black cardboard on my easel. This gives them a much more sophisticated touch as the scans that I used before.

Happy Birthday and a "Schaffensrausch"

Well, since I don't have a picture of a birthday cake, I thought I'd share this picture of my happy place with you. It's a shame but I haven't been there for while. In any case this last year has been full of change for me. I moved into my first own flat (flatsharing before). I lost a lot of weight and gained quite some confidence in myself. Chris and I started our ChrisSan Photographer project. I registered my own trademark and sooo much more happened. Next year is going to be even awesome, I feel it.  I've decided to be cheeky and apply at the Museum of Modern Art in New York for example. Yes, I've finally decided to switch to the creative field. We'll see where I "end" up. Who knows maybe the MoMA, maybe with Stefan Sagmeister (a very great designer and artist that I admire) or maybe as a Visual Merchandiser or maybe San's Visual Art really takes off (me the next Picasso, *snicker*). Who knows. My Tarot is quite awesome for the next year, as you can see here:

My friend K and I layed it yesterday evening. It was soooo much fun. I really enjoyed sitting in a café in the city over a nice glass of "Federweisser", talking and laying the Tarot.

While I'm talking about developing San's Visual Art, yesterday I fell into a "Schaffensrausch"*, I drew all them yesterday morning:

A thing I learned from it: drawing needs daily practice. My, my, my. Did those two months of not practicing show off on the first few cards. Steadily drawing outside the lines. :( So from now on, I'll draw every single day. And I'll invest quite an amount of time and money on improving my skills. K will give me a gift certificate for a local artists supply. So the paper in the A2 format and a Thor transport roll are the next things I'll get for San's Visual Art, besides a good scanner. I'll also take classes, whenever I'm lucky enough that they are held and not cancelled due to not enough bookings. >:(  This happened for the third time now.

* I like this word "Schaffensrausch".

New in my DaWanda Shop - Square Art

So it's Thursday and I finally put up some new artwork of mine in my DaWanda-Shop. This time all of them are square-shaped pictures. The prices vary from 22 to 33 Euros for those originals plus shipping (and yes, I ship internationally). I dare say, all of them are bargains and I really love my "De ma Fenetre".

Starting over: New Blogname and new shop

Hello my lovely readers.

I know this blog has lacked some inspiration during the last few months and for that I apologize. Lately I was concerned with other more pressing matters (jobsearch and surviving in general).

As this posts title states I have renamed this blog and have opened a shop, a shop at www.dawanda.com (which you could call the german version of etsy.com). In my shop, which is called "San's Visual Art" I'll sell my drawings (so far there are 3 postcards and one drawing on offer) and selected photos (haven't posted any yet). The prices vary, but are moderate.

So if you ever wanted a certain picture of mine, just comment under the newest post and tell me which one in what size and I'll be happy to offer it in my shop: http://sans-visual-art.dawanda.com. I'm happy about normal comments too and I read them all. Always have, always will.

Alright, enough of the sales talk.

I wish you all a wonderful weekend. Enjoy it with somebody you love or if you can't, still make the best of it. Life is a miracle and we are here to enjoy it.
