Setting Sail to leave the save Harbor

Oohoohohohh. I'm soooooo darned excited about the developments in my life. I will reveal them soon, just need to edit and prepare some stuff for this blog and then ...

This is the reason for todays picture, the harbor of Wustrow on the Darss peninsula. Looking at this picture I want to go there right away, I love the Darss.

Daunting Stairs

Have you ever had the feeling that you know exactly the next steps you have to take to get where you want to go and you can already see the great result if you take those steps, but still the next steps scare you and you find yourself hesitating? I'm feeling currently like this. And the picture above is perfectly illustrating this feeling. The double exposure even gives the feeling of dizziness that comes with making one's way into new territory.

This picture pretty much sums up my current mood. Yesterday was a day were I was stalling and I felt miserable about it. It took me quite a while to get into drawing and at first it was anything but fluid. I hope today will be better.

Spring is coming, but no new music

When I walked to my dentists appointment at dusk yesterday evening the Spring birds were singing and the air felt like velvet. I love this kind of air, when everything becomes soft and the light brush of wind feels like a loving caress and as if someone is ruffling lovingly your hair. *sigh*

These days I feel like I'm becoming more and more myself. Something is definitely shifting. On Tuesday as rotten as it was, something big shifted. It felt like years passed in hours. I had the exact same feeling on the Tuesday before Christmas.

What is also changing are my expenses. For almost 20 years I spent quite a lot of my income on music. But I haven't bought one single song since November. I also don't lend CDs from the public library anymore. In fact I'm starting to listen to my vast collection of music. Currently I listen a lot to Matchbox Twenty, Hootie & the Blowfish, The Goo Goo Dolls and Tom Jones. I'm obviously not running from myself anymore, I'm starting to truly accept myself on a very basic level.
However my mind hasn't caught up with this development. It's funny (and annoying) how often during the last weeks and months I wanted to go music shopping (online and second-hand music stores or library) and whenever I did, I found that I'm not interested in anything. Nevertheless there is not a day passing by when I'm not thinking of buying some new music. I'm sure I will buy the new John Mayer LP whenever that comes out, but until then ...
But beware of me going to my local artists supply, then I really get into shopping mood. Good thing I'm now making it a point to pay cash, this way I'm abled to reign in my spending. Anyway, I've decided to gift myself a starters box of water-colours at Easter.

Craving summer

Even though it is sunny outside, it's freezing with -12°C. But since I need food and get my laundry done, I must go out. Only 30° more and it would be real comfortable outside. Weird isn't it, such a little temperature corridor for us to be living in. This universe and life is truly amazing, don't ya think?!

Another shot from our trip to Röcken. This is a detail shot of one of the churches windows. As I said it was a Sunday with perfect conditions for photography.

Happy Memories for Chris and Moi: 6th post - Nietzsches Backyard

Since Chris asked me to post a few more Leipzig photos this week because she is so homesick for Leipzig, I created this post series for her. I hope this comforts you a bit.

Another Sunday. This time we went to Röcken, to visit the grave and memorial of Friedrich Nietzsche. It was quite interesting and we've had perfect conditions for taking a lot of pictures. This is a way to the church of Röcken and quite literally a part of Friedrich Nietzsches backyard.

Happy Memories For Chris and moi: 2nd post - Vertigo inducing Windows

Since Chris asked me to post a few more Leipzig photos this week because she is so homesick for Leipzig, I created this post series for her. I hope this comforts you a bit.

For the second post I chose our night photography tour. It was such fun and I learned a lot about my cameras. For these shots I wished I had a tilting display or any display at all on my F90. But I didn't so I had to contort my body into a really uncomfortable position to get these long exposure shots, for which I used a tripod.

Footsteps and Creative Commons License

This picture was inspired by many other pictures of many other people. I'm against piracy, but I'm for a culture of sharing. This is why I switched my copyright to a Creative Commons License.

Some companies are currently trying to strangle the freedom of speech and creativity that the internet enabled. They want to go back to the dark ages when they controlled the news and the media with SOPA and PIPA and whatever they call it in your country. But you know what: I like my voice and I like to use it.

So there you have it, Creative Commons for my creations.

Leipzig at Night - Column head

Good morning. I wish you all a wonderful new week.

"The world is, what you think it is."* So make it as you wish it to be. I think the world is beautiful, colorful and joyful. And you know what?! The world proves this to me over and over and over again. Day by day. Yesterday it was raining, however at sunset the sun was a red blaze under the clouds it was almost otherworldly. I didn't take a pic, since it was pouring. Still, I'm grateful that I could see this amazing view.
