Withered Barn Series - Along the long side

Oh my, I LOOOVE this series. Ahhh. It's pictures like this, when I know I am an artist. I will definitely make prints of this series, frame them and put them on my walls.

Things finally seem to come together for me. I finally got rid of a bad habit, a habit of rebellion that I had for 28 years. So I'm proud on myself for achieving this. I've also been eating grain- , sugar- and dairy-free for the last 2 days. Considering that I'm in my monthly chocolate-craving week this is quite an outstanding feat. In any case I'm currently obsessed with creamy scrambled eggs, I ate them 3 times yesterday, 2 of those servings in the evening because of the chocolate craving. This amounts to 12 eggs yesterday. Well, it helped to straighten out my serotonin levels and beat my chocolate craving so I'm fine with it. Now I just have to buy enough eggs for today, tomorrow and Monday morning, since I guess that the chocolate craving will stay around for a few more days.

Yesterday afternoon I rearranged furniture in my studio. So now my easel is standing ready to use right beside my bed and at the northern end of my room, which is the career part of my studio if I follow Feng Shui. I'm no absolute devotee to Feng Shui, but it's the best place for my easel anyway, so it fits and maybe it helps.

The lone blade

of grass. I took this picture on my snow walk on Saturday. During this walk I took about 200 pictures, mostly digital. I went totally crazy with macro photography on a wooden barn. I just LOVE photographing withered wood.

Need a bit of cooling down? There you go...

I took this picture last December. During the winter I mostly used my Digital Ixus, since there wasn't enough light for my Lomo most of the time. On this film I found pictures from last October too.

The house on the left is what is called a "Platte", it's a house build of concrete panels. I live in a "Platte" and I was lucky, because I have a fantastic view over Leipzig and woodland and it is quite quiet, which surprised me.

Have a wonderful new week.

More snow

It just keeps on snowing. And as much as I like snow, I would love to pack my stuff and fly to Hawaii right now!!!

In case you are wondering, this is Dresden, where I had an interview two weeks back, which went really well and lead to ... ah, no, sadly no job. However, cool city.

Still Winter

We've got still winter in Leipzig and it has brought down nearly all traffic in this town down. Most streetcars are out of order and you've got sometimes only two options: either you walk or you drive your car. That is: if you have a car and you could get it out of the parking space. Since I don't have to go anywhere today, I'll just walk over to the homeimprovement store in the afternoon and get some boxes. I take my time to organize my kitchen further and get some proper rest since I've been sick this last night. Probably ate something wrong. :(

Sunday afternoon walk with Chris

This Sunday afternoon the weather was perfect for this kind of shots. Chris and I did some really cool combined effort shots and bubbled over with ideas for many more combined effort shots. You'll see those shots on our ChrisSan Photographers Blog sooner or later.

Some of those ideas are pretty simple and easily to do, others need months of planning and preparation (clothes, venues including permission, some peoples like violin players and pianists, requisites like the violin from Grandpa, hats and gloves, etc, etc).

Believe it or not, but I started a notebook just for those photoshooting ideas, which is a novum for me, as I never really planned photoshoots. I just take a camera with me and then take a picture if something picks my eye.

Winter Wonderland Leipzig - the second

The weather is totally unusual for Leipzig. We've had a beautiful day yesterday too and got new snow from 5 AM this morning and it's still snowing. So since it's so darned beautiful and weird for Leipzig, you'll get a lot of snow pics from me this week.
I've enjoyed my walk through snow today, though I fell once and would prefer to be at work.

Unfortunately I just got another "No". Oh well, I've got three applications scheduled for today. Let's see if I get them all out. Looking at my elleuk horoscope (Your communication zone gets the lovely fringe benefits of Venus, starting today and lasting through the end of the year. All missives should have the Midas touch now, as your charm is totally off the hook. Send out emails and blog your heart out, Virgo – everyone will get the message.), I say I will succeed and get myself a job. Haha.

Have a fantastic Monday.
