Withered Barn Series - Along the long side

Oh my, I LOOOVE this series. Ahhh. It's pictures like this, when I know I am an artist. I will definitely make prints of this series, frame them and put them on my walls.

Things finally seem to come together for me. I finally got rid of a bad habit, a habit of rebellion that I had for 28 years. So I'm proud on myself for achieving this. I've also been eating grain- , sugar- and dairy-free for the last 2 days. Considering that I'm in my monthly chocolate-craving week this is quite an outstanding feat. In any case I'm currently obsessed with creamy scrambled eggs, I ate them 3 times yesterday, 2 of those servings in the evening because of the chocolate craving. This amounts to 12 eggs yesterday. Well, it helped to straighten out my serotonin levels and beat my chocolate craving so I'm fine with it. Now I just have to buy enough eggs for today, tomorrow and Monday morning, since I guess that the chocolate craving will stay around for a few more days.

Yesterday afternoon I rearranged furniture in my studio. So now my easel is standing ready to use right beside my bed and at the northern end of my room, which is the career part of my studio if I follow Feng Shui. I'm no absolute devotee to Feng Shui, but it's the best place for my easel anyway, so it fits and maybe it helps.

Winter solstice - finally

The longest night of the year and from tomorrow on days are getting longer again. Finally, sigh.

In between - Mauna Loa

"In between" is a description not just for the Mauna Loa in the above pic which I took standing on Mauna Kea right next to an awesome observatory, but it also describes how I feel at the moment. In between. It feels kinda weird, good and bad luck have struck a fragile balance during the last few days. For example, I was the only one out of my group to have to work today, bad luck, however today every worker got a little sweet christmas present, which is good. So yeah, in between it is for me.

Hawaiian mood

Okay, so this picture might not symbolize Hawaii for you, but it does for me. Why? Well, it was the best day of the year 2008 for me, my trip to the Mauna Kea Observatories. It was a Tuesday, we were picked up at 1 PM at a frozen yoghurt shop. We've enjoy driving up over the plateau and then to the middle station (where we had a nice Dinner) before we drove through the clouds and even higher up to the observatories. It's beautiful isn't it? We've witnessed the most extraordinairy sunset and afterwards we were watching stars through a telescope that the guide had brought with him. I don't remember the tour guides name, but he was fantastic. I've loved every minute of this tour. As I've said previously, 2008 was a great year for me.

Enjoy your remaining Sunday and have a good start into Christmas week.

Beauty at the roadside

Good morning, I wish everybody a fantastic new week. I took the above picture this spring. It's a good reminder, that beauty is everywhere around us and that we just need to take a closer look. Open our eyes to the beauty of our world. Just a few minutes I was lucky enough to catch this:

A rainbow. Just outside my window and literally a few seconds after I had taken this picture it was gone. So, whenever you see something beautiful, stop to appreciate it in all its glory, you can always spare a second or two for these things. And it's those moments that make our life beautiful and worthwhile.

The curious pattern of tree bark

As a matter of fact I'm endlessly fascinated with tree bark and its patterns and trees growing patterns in itself.

Well there is a 6-day-workweek ahead of me, with lots of stuff on my to-do-list besides my job in logistics. Nevertheless my mood is astonishingly fantastic, might be that I've already became an active member at the creative club I've joined or that I had a beautiful and successful day yesterday or that I paid myself my first "fatmoney".

I hope you are in a good mood too and make the best of your new week. What have you planned to make it special? I'll have another pondering Sunday on my coffee shop with one free Caffe Latte. Wohoo.

Somehow fascinating

I don't know what it is these days, but I find myself extremely drawn to pics like this.  Weird huh? Anyhow, on Thursday or maybe a day later I will go on vacation. I'm really happy about it.

Clouds over Leipzig

Good Morning. A new week has started. When you leave your home to go wherever, take a second to look at the sky. It's always changing and even if it is grey, you might find a smidge of beauty in it. Look at the sky and take a deep breath, it will probably relax you. I hope this pic relaxes you too and sets you of to a good start in the new week.

Looking up the Münster of Basel

Good morning everyone.
I hope all of you had a wonderful and relaxing weekend. I certainly did. With a grande Starbucks Java Chip Chocolate Cream Frappuccino, two hours of browsing in a bookstore to finally find an interesting read ("Lunch in Paris" by Elizabeth Bard. I love browsing in bookstores, Amazon is nice, but it can't replace the feel of real books or a bookstore.), making plans for the near and far future (getting new shelfspace from IKEA this week, buying a few good polo shirts on sale and buying a new and very good vacuum cleaner later this year {The one I own now is absolute crap, it really does more harm then good. It creates nothing but hot, dusty air and puts any jet engine to shame with its decibel-levels. ugh}) and a Sunday afternoon filled with creating artwork.

Have a wonderful week everyone.

Freedom of choice

Suddenly I feel free. Last week I was feeling horrible, this week the world is full of possibilities.

LIFE IS GREAT!!
