This is what I like about Leipzig

Views like this right in the city. As a matter of fact this is just a 12 minute walk from my doorstep.

Enjoying the first real Spring day

My perfect Wingtips!

Yesterday came pretty close to my perfect Spring day. Wonderful sunshine, warm enough to lounge for lunch on a wooden park bench, before that enjoying a absolutely fantastic presentation on watercolor (more on that in another post) and some art supply shopping (I've got my A3 ringbound sketchbook, wohoo), enjoying a photographing party in Leipzigs Botanical Garden (pictures coming soon in other posts) and then taking a nap in the sunshine at home with my window wide open, closing the day with a long chat with my friend Chris. Yes, definitely a wonderful day.

My unhealthy but tasty lunch. It's been a spur of the moment decision.

Enjoying the sun and getting some Vitamin D produced after the lunch.

Mind you I only exposed my calves for a few minutes, it was still too cold without the trousers. In any case I wasn't the only one enjoying the sun. There are three benches on both long sides of the Apothecary Garden and on each bench in the sun we launched and enjoyed the sun. The Spring birds were singing too, so I listened to them instead of music. It was quite lovely.

Today it's drab again, but since I have a lot on my agenda for today, that's fine.

Enjoy your Saturday.

Here's looking at you, Babe! - Schau mir ins Auge, Kleines!

This artwork stands in the agra Park, which is shared by Leipzig and Markkleeberg, on Leipzigs side. I took the pic on one of Chris and my Sunday bike tours. I really like this picture.

Yesterday was quite awful, the only time that I felt okay was while I was drawing/painting. It's funny. In January I tried to instill the habit of drawing everyday, hence the 366 project, but it didn't work. But since the 20th February, the first thing that I do after breakfast is drawing/painting. It has become my form of meditation, it's the only thing to quite my mind.
This reminds me of Rainer Maria Rilke, my favorite poet, who once wrote to a young poet. Following his logic, I find that I need to draw/create, therefore I'm an artist at heart and my art that I create because of this need to create is good, no matter what everyone else thinks.

Anyway, this afternoon I will meet with a student of graphic art. She will help me decide upon
how I build up my portfolio. I'm quite excited about it.

Do you feel the need to create? What do you need to create?

Contrast Program - Summery Green and Business Cards

Since the winter is starting to really getting on my nerves, I needed a bit of summery green on this blog of mine. The Roman Baths in the Sanssouci Park on June 1st in 2011. It was such an amazing day. I loved this trip.

And just because I can and I really like them, I have to show you my brand new San's Visual Art - Business Cards. Aren't they fantastic? I designed them and then printed them myself.

A certain calm - Park of Castle Halbturn

Confession: I love baroque. I love Art Nouveau. I love cubism. And while we're at it I love bacon too. Yum.

So the Castle Halbturn at the Neusiedler Lake in Austria is just my cup of tea. The big garden A.K.A. park, the lovely castle with its other buildings, the location, the view. I really enjoyed it to be there. Also I found that I have a thing for the interior design of the 1930s. There is an antique store in the castle and they had the most amazing stool there, but it was way too expensive at the moment for me.

Calm is a thing much needed in todays world, the same applies to humor. So in an attempt to combine calm and good humour I created the ZEN-POSTCARD-SET. I had the idea at the Neusiedler Lake. Might be that I even had it in the beautiful park of Castle Halbturn. So here it is:

The path for Alice in Wonderland - or was it San in Wonderland?

Another SANSSOUCI photo. I still wonder how I managed to get pictures without people in this Park, which was full of tourists. (Me being one of them. ;) Guess I got lucky. In any case I LOVE this park.

A few digital impressions of the SANSSOUCI Park

I went to SANSSOUCI in Potsdam this Saturday, together with my parents. Enjoy the first few digital pics.

Before the gallery building. Surprisingly no people!

Don't ask me, what this is for. It was there and it's no junk.

Amazing lightholders at the side of the New Palais. Each one is different.
